Facial Structure Refinement

Surgical Excellence » Face » Facial Structure Refinement

Subtle structural imbalances can affect the overall harmony of your face. Whether it is the shape of the nose or the position of the ears, our surgical refinement techniques - including Rhinoplasty and Otoplasty - are designed to enhance balance, improve symmetry and support your facial confidence.

Facial Structure Refinement Procedures:

Rhinoplasty

A surgical procedure designed to reshape and refine the nose for improved facial harmony and, when needed, enhanced nasal function.

    • You feel that your nose is disproportionate to your facial features

    • You are concerned about a drooping tip, dorsal hump, or asymmetry

    • You experience functional issues such as difficulty breathing due to septal deviation or structural irregularities

    • You seek to improve your profile or nasal appearance following trauma or previous surgery

    • You wish to achieve natural refinement without compromising facial identity

  • Rhinoplasty, commonly referred to as nose reshaping surgery, modifies the internal or external structure of the nose to enhance both appearance and function.

It can address aesthetic concerns, such as size, shape, or asymmetry, as well as correct anatomical issues that impair airflow.

    This treatment can:

    • Refine the nasal tip, bridge, or nostrils

    • Straighten a deviated septum

    • Improve breathing and correct post-traumatic deformities

    • Create facial balance by harmonizing the nose with other features

    • Deliver permanent, natural-looking results when performed by an experienced surgeon

  • Rhinoplasty is typically performed under general anaesthesia and is often carried out as a day-case procedure, though an overnight stay may be required when combined with other surgeries.

The approach may be open (with a small incision across the columella) or closed (incisions inside the nostrils), depending on the complexity of the correction.

Cartilage and bone are reshaped, repositioned, or augmented as needed. In cases of functional rhinoplasty, the septum may be corrected to improve airflow.

Surgery typically lasts 1.5 to 3 hours.

    • Enhanced nasal contour with improved facial balance

    • Functional improvement in cases involving breathing difficulties

    • Progressive refinement over the first 4–6 weeks, with final results visible after 6 to 12 months

    • Permanent structural changes, though subtle shifts in cartilage over time may occur

    • Low incidence of scarring, especially with a closed technique

Post-operative swelling is expected and gradually resolves. Patients may resume light activity the day after surgery and return to most normal activities within 1–2 weeks.

Proper skin care and strict sun protection are recommended throughout the healing period to support optimal outcomes.

Otoplasty

A surgical procedure to reposition or reshape the ears, bringing balance to the face and restoring natural contours, often used to correct protruding or misshapen ears.

    • You or your child have ears that appear prominent or asymmetrical

    • You wish to correct a congenital deformity or post-traumatic ear irregularity

    • You feel self-conscious about ear projection or shape

    • You are seeking improved facial balance and harmony

    • You want a permanent solution to an issue that may affect confidence or self-image

  • Otoplasty, also known as ear reshaping surgery, adjusts the size, position, or contour of the ears. The procedure is tailored to each patient and may involve cartilage reshaping, pinning the ears closer to the head, or correcting congenital anomalies.

    This treatment can:

    • Set back protruding ears for a more balanced profile

    • Correct asymmetries or irregularities in ear shape

    • Restore confidence in both children and adults

    • Achieve permanent, natural-looking results with minimal visible scarring

    • Be performed safely from as early as age 5 or 6, once ear growth is nearly complete

  • Otoplasty is generally performed as an outpatient procedure under local anaesthesia with sedation in adults, or general anaesthesia in younger patients.

A small incision is placed either behind the ear or within its natural folds, allowing access to the cartilage. The surgeon then reshapes or repositions the cartilage to achieve a more natural ear contour and angle.

The procedure typically lasts 1 to 2 hours and involves minimal disruption to surrounding tissue.

    • More proportionate, symmetrical ears

    • Natural appearance without signs of surgical intervention

    • Permanent correction, with very low rates of recurrence

    • Discreet incision placement and minimal scarring

    • Improved self-esteem and confidence, particularly in children and adolescents

Initial swelling and mild bruising are expected and typically resolve within a few weeks.

Patients may resume light activity the day after surgery, with a return to normal routines within 1 to 2 weeks.
A headband may be recommended at night during early recovery to protect the ears.

As with any surgical procedure, proper skincare and sun protection are essential to support optimal healing.
