Where more than one concern is present, procedures may be combined in a single operation or staged across two, depending on tissue quality, the extent of correction required and how safely the desired shape can be achieved at once. Choosing the Right Breast Procedure
Volume loss with a well positioned nipple usually points towards implants. Adequate volume with a breast that has dropped points towards a lift. Where both have occurred, augmentation mastopexy addresses volume and position together. Discomfort in the neck, shoulders or back from breast size points towards reduction, and correction after mastectomy, lumpectomy or a previous procedure falls under reconstruction and refinement. Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation, medically known as augmentation mammoplasty, uses implants to increase size, restore volume lost after pregnancy or weight change, and improve symmetry. Implant type, size, shape, profile and placement are selected against your chest wall measurements and existing tissue rather than a target cup size.
What It Addresses
The Procedure
Performed under general anaesthesia and typically taking one to two hours. Incisions are placed discreetly in the crease beneath the breast, around the areola, or in the underarm, with implants positioned either beneath the breast tissue or partially beneath the chest muscle depending on tissue coverage.
Best For
Patients who have lost volume or want greater fullness, where the nipple remains well positioned relative to the breast crease. Where the breast has also dropped, a lift may be recommended alongside the implant.

Breast Reduction & Lifting
Breast reduction, or reduction mammoplasty, removes excess breast tissue and skin to bring the breasts into proportion and relieve the neck, shoulder and back discomfort that size can cause. Breast lift, or mastopexy, removes excess skin, tightens the breast envelope and repositions the nipple higher on the chest without significantly changing size.

Both operations are performed under general anaesthesia. Incision pattern is determined by the degree of correction required, ranging from periareolar to vertical to inverted-T, with longer incisions allowing greater control over shape. Where volume has been lost as well as position, an implant may be placed alongside the lift as an augmentation mastopexy.
Best For
Patients whose breast size is causing physical symptoms, and patients whose breasts have adequate residual volume but have dropped or flattened after pregnancy, breastfeeding or weight change.

Breast Reconstruction & Refinement
Breast reconstruction recreates the breast mound after mastectomy or lumpectomy using implants, your own tissue through flap reconstruction, or a combination of both. Refinement addresses the results of previous surgery, including capsular contracture, implant malposition, contour irregularity, scarring and nipple appearance.

Reconstruction may involve tissue expansion followed by implant placement, flap surgery using tissue from the abdomen or back, or a combined technique. Refinement usually works through existing incision sites and may include fat grafting or tissue support to improve contour. Nipple correction is performed through small, concealed incisions, often under local anaesthesia with sedation.

Surgical Planning
Once suitability is confirmed, a personalised surgical plan is developed. Pre-Op Preparation
In the weeks before surgery, our team guides you through pre-operative health checks, blood tests and imaging where indicated. We advise pausing certain supplements, optimising nutrition, and avoiding nicotine for at least four weeks before and after surgery. A pre-admission appointment confirms final details.
Surgery
You are welcomed into our private surgical suite by the consultant anaesthetist and theatre team. Surgery is performed under general anaesthesia, with incisions placed to sit as discreetly as the correction allows. Depending on the procedure, you may be discharged the same day or remain in our care overnight.
Recovery and Follow-Up
A support bra is fitted to hold the tissue in position while healing. Light activity resumes within one to two weeks and strenuous exercise at around six to eight weeks. Scheduled reviews monitor healing, guide scar care and confirm that the result is settling as planned.
